Europe Month 2017 - Hungarian traditional costume on display

As part of the Europe Month organized by the Delegation of the European Union, traditional costumes exhibited at the Kingdom Tower

One of the iconic buildings of Riyadh hosted the exhibition of the EU, featuring the clothes of 11 member states, including those from Hungary.

Thanks to the unique color richness and decorum of the so called "Kalotaszeg" folk costume, it is one of the most popular traditional folk costumes of Hungarians. In the Transylvanian ethnographic area of the Kalota stream, its historical legacies are one of the richest and most fashionable Hungarian costumes. Today, an older piece of the original outfit can be seen mostly at family events or traditional celebrations.

The outfits were provided by the Hungarian Heritage House/Hungarian State Folk Ensemble.
