In 2012, as a sign of recognizing Hungary professionally, in addition to countries of major nuclear capacity (France, China, Korea and Russia), Saudi Arabia initiated cooperation on nuclear energy with Hungary. The signed agreement provides an opportunity to exchange scientific and technical information, patents, technologies, researchers, engineers and mechanic experts, and also for training programs, joint research groups and for technical assistance. The topic of energy was covered by state secretary Dr. András Aradszky and general manager of MVM Péter Csiba at the meetings.
During the visit, the agreement on establishing the MVM Ovit joint venture with the Arabian International Company (steel industry) was also signed. The agreement – signed by general manager László Patay and president Wasim A. Attieh – makes it possible for MVM Ovit to participate in tenders on high-voltage network installation as they enter the Saudi market. Deputy minister of the Ministry of Water and Electricity Dr. Saleh Alawaji also participated at the event.
